Facing A Difficult Friendship?

Facing A Difficult Friendship? // young-wives.com

But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you. If you do this, you will be true children of your Father in heaven. He causes the sun to rise on good people and on evil people, and he sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong. If you love only the people who love you, you will get no reward. Even the tax collectors do that. And if you are nice only to your friends, you are no better than other people. Even those who don’t know God are nice to their friends. So you must be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:44-48)

I have someone in my life that I see on a regular basis that basically ignores me, and tries to avoid me if they see me coming. This makes me feel uncomfortable! I’m a friendly person and really don’t understand where this other person is coming from.

Today I remembered that this same thing happened to me a while back.  Someone else avoided me, acted like a snob, etc. Then God gave me the grace to pray for this person!  ( I know it wasn’t me because I really did not like this person!) After some time (not overnight) really praying for this person (not just, God help Joanie, amen), but specific, strategic praying, I began to see a difference in our relationship! This even surprised me because I didn’t see the relationship going anywhere. After awhile, I actually liked this person and they talked to me like I was somebody (not a nobody).

So – today I decided to pray, seriously pray for this second person. I’m waiting to see what God will do.
