Who Else Wants a Love That Lasts?

Who Else Wants a Love That Lasts? // Young Wives ClubWe all want a love that lasts. A marriage that is strong. We want security, dependability. Do these sound familiar?

Broken marriages and relationships in this culture are rampant. So many children have been raised in broken homes and are desperate to break the cycle. We crave a lasting relationship. Jeff and Alyssa address this very thing in their new book.

Coming from two very different home lives, Jeff and Alyssa discuss this topic from their personal experiences and also share their own story. They are vulnerable, honest, and transparent about what they’ve gone through and the struggles they’ve faced. Their story is a roller coaster! At one point, they even broke up. But look at them now! Happily married with two adorable kiddos, Kannon and Kinsley.

They don’t claim perfection or to have “made it,” rather they share from the heart hoping to help you in your walk. Whether you’re single, dating, engaged, or married you can glean something from this book! And I love how they point to Jesus as the source of true love, because He really is! They unpack what it means to have a love that lasts and it all begins with Him.

I think my favorite chapter is “All of Me,” named after John Legend’s hit. Alyssa wrote it, and it really resonated with me. Even though I’m going on my third year of marriage, I still feel like I’m learning. The challenges may not be the same as the ones newlyweds experience, but they are still challenges nevertheless. The chapter gave me hope and encouragement about my own marriage.

The fact is, ladies, marriage isn’t perfect. But that’s okay. If it was perfect, there would be no need to understand how to have a strong relationship. Furthermore, just like our husbands, we’re changing. That’s how life is. The man my husband is now is not the same man I married, and I love that. I have had the privilege of watching him grow and change into the man he is today. Likewise, he has watched me change and grow and I am not who I was.

I truly loved the overall message and truth shared in this book. It was a delight to read, I loved their humor! In fact, I read nearly half the book in one setting. Haha! I loved it that much, it was  terribly hard to put down. I definitely recommend this book to any young woman (or man), no matter his or her relationship status. This book makes you think, and that’s a good thing.

Jeff and Alyssa’s new book comes out October tenth! We are so excited about it. You can preorder your copy here: Love That Lasts: How We Discovered God’s Better Way for Love, Dating, Marriage, and Sex* And I wouldn’t wait! However, if you preorder here you can receive a couple goodies!

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review of my opinions, which I have done. Thanks!
